Random thoughts 8/10/12

I have a few extra minutes right now. Extra as in I don't HAVE to be anywhere, though there is still lots that needs to be done. But I wanted to take time and share some passing thoughts from these 10 days in Poland. These thoughts are passing... I'm only typing as I go, so forgive the randomness.

I have greatly fallen in love with the directors of "DAR" and their children. They are creative, hard working, loving, patient, encouraging, faithful, thankful and obviously in love with God. While part of me looks forward to the rest that follows coming home, I am already not looking forward to saying bye to this family.

The Siech family aren't the only awesome people here. Different friends of theirs that have come to help out and those that will be traveling with "DAR" have all been kind, generous, and patient with the language barrier. Over all it's a very fun group of people.

I am very tired. But it's a good tired. I like this kind of tired. I feel like I am doing and creating. I am very glad for the change of pace soon with the traveling, but I am also a little apprehensive to see what will come with it all. Excited to see what God does.

For the most part I have utterly enjoyed everything. There have been a couple things that have been frustrating to me. Some things that have, at times, made me irritable. As I was working on some props this morning I was reflecting on some of my actions the last couple of days and was reminded of something very convicting. "Love is not irritable." I wonder if these feelings of irritation mean I am not loving... or if I have to act out in irritation. I wonder how to overcome irritation.

I would type more, but I have already run out of time. More random thoughts, and hopefully more thought out writings will come soon.

Love (that is not irritable... hopefully)

To do:

I have one week to:

[X] Officially have a freakout.
[] Finish a LARGE painting.
[] Pack... and make sure I have what I need for a month.
[] Come up with a costume that needs to be packed.
[] Mentally, emotionally, and spiritually prepare for Poland.
[] Get the $850 needed for room and board and another suggested couple hundred for accidentals.

Good thing God's got this.

9 days left.

I thought I'd write more. I don't know why I did... I never do.

9 days left.
$850 to go, but I am debt free!!!!
Praise God for that and praise Him for the extended period of faith stretching. :)
I haven't started packing yet.
I have started a couple panic sessions.
But I've also done pretty good at calming down... or maybe just ignoring certain thoughts. Does that count?

Part of me is so ready to go.
* I have no job, so no responsibility in that sense
* I have no debt, so I need no job for right now
* I am craving adventure and stories
* I feel that this is a beginning... that when I return, I'm not returning to the same. (exciting!)

Part of me doesn't want to go at all.
* I have slight fear of the unknown
* I feel that this is a beginning... that when I return, I'm not returning to the same. (I was just getting to like somethings)

Obviously, I want to go way more than I want to stay, even if I don't feel it at the moment.
Anyways, beyond a very large act of God, there's no way I'm not going. I have my ticket paid for, so even if I don't leave with the money I'm going to arrive with the money.

"To be willing to make a mistake is an act of profound trust." - Erik Gullen

The above quote has been heart calmer for me. Mostly because I'm at an age where I can make mistakes, and I've got a God who'll take care of me... let me deal with consequences, but will take care of me. That's good to know.

May 24....

The end of May is coming... DUN DUN DUNNNNNN.

Two more months until I go to Poland.

I still don't have my plane ticket, nor do I have the money to purchase it.

I get these moments of panic.

I get these periods of almost cocky peace.

Really though, I'm just learning to be content in every circumstance.
